about

Fistless took a bunch of different forms before getting to what you hear. The outro was actually the original music for the verses and other components of the song were emphasized in different ways. After a year or two of struggling with trying to figure out why the song was not quite working I discovered I was emphasizing the wrong part of the song, landing on what we finally became Fistless, or Fistless_2 on my work station.

I still have the original version on my computer and listened to it the other day. It is amazing how much better it turned out. I do really like that bass line at the end though. One of the few things I can play on a keyboard.

Neil advised me to change the drum samples late into producing this song and he was 100% correct. Thanks for the extra work, it did pay off I think.

lyrics

Get up
Young one

The whole thing
Is over

you keep on
Gripping

when there is
Nothing

Cut my
suspension

Pummeled
tension

On the
concrete

Basement’s
Limelight

Black shirt
Mountain

Bones in
My stomach

I feel it
It is time

I never wanted
To make it all end like this

Give and take you know this
Fistless boy is faking it

Who should have given
All that there is to invent

When I
flood out

Will you m
make my

Stones in
a circle

so I can
Be Alone

You are
Hopeless

You are
Helpless

You are
inside

Cold leaf
Recall

Where are
The eyestance

Planted
In dead shore

I wish
Its over

Will you
Please end me

I never wanted
To make it all end like this

Give and take you know this
Fistless boy is faking it

Who should have given
All that there is to invent

Staring at a light
Thanksgiving Day
You Promised its over
You promised its over
I should have known
So keep your word true
keep your word true
And hang from that light
Keep your truth once

Staring at the sun
Salt in my eyes
You promised its over
You lied to my face
I should have known
I should have known
Now keep your word
And fade into air

One time
Again

I see
You stand there

Just a
Shadow

The features
They fade now

And when
I walk to

The vision
The message

My hands
They go up

But you never
Go down

Not just
in stories

But when I
Hear you

You’re still
Standing

And I still
Am I hiding

What are you are
